On Safa and Marwah

إِنَّ ٱلصَّفَا وَٱلْمَرْوَةَ مِن شَعَآئِرِ ٱللَّهِ

Innas Safaa wal-Marwata min sha'aaa'iril laahi

Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah.

When approaching Safa the Prophet ﷺ recited this, then said: “I begin with what Allah began with.”

أَبْدَأُ بِمَا بَدَأَ اللَّهُ بِهِ

Abda-o bima badaal-lahu bih.

I begin with what Allah began with.

لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ، أَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ، وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ، وَهَزَمَ الْأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ

La ilaha illal-lahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, wahuwa ʿala kulli shayin qadeer, la ilaha illal-lahu wahdah, anjaza waʿdah, wanasara ʿabdah, wahazamal-ahzaba wahdah.

None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone. He fulfilled His promise, aided His Servant and single-handedly defeated the allies.

Climb Safa until the Ka'bah is in view, face it and say Allahu akbar three times, then say this three times, making your own supplication between each time. Do the same on Marwah.
